UAE Releases Key Technical Specifications in E-Invoicing Rollout

The United Arab Emirates has taken another important step forward in its national e-invoicing initiative, marking a significant milestone with the release of core technical documents. These materials are critical for both businesses and service providers aiming to ensure smooth adoption and regulatory compliance.
New Rules For Peppol Service Providers
The Peppol Authority Specific Requirements (PASR) set out the UAE’s official rules and technical guidelines for Peppol Service Providers. It forms the central reference point for implementing the Peppol-based five-corner model in the country. As a foundational document, it is supported by a collection of key specifications:
- PINT AE: The localized version of the Peppol International Invoice for the UAE. It defines the semantic content, syntax bindings, code lists, and validation rules specific to e-invoicing in the UAE.
- Enterprise Interoperability Architecture: This document presents the UAE DCTCE framework at a conceptual and business level. It is designed to help business users understand the system’s structure and assist technical teams in aligning with its principles.
- Solution Architecture: Focused on implementation, this document outlines the technical framework for deploying compliant e-invoicing solutions within the UAE. It is intended primarily for developers and solution providers.
Future Updates
Further technical specifications, including the UAE Tax Data Document (PINT), are expected to be published later in June. Businesses and service providers are strongly advised to begin preparing for integration as early as possible to ensure readiness and compliance.
