UAE PINT AE v1.0.1 Released as an Official E-Invoicing Standard for the Upcoming Mandate

OpenPeppol has released PINT AE v1.0.1, the latest version of the UAE-specific Peppol specification for electronic invoicing. The update applies to both Billing and Self-Billing scenarios and introduces key technical refinements, including revised code lists, updated syntax bindings, and enhanced validation rules.
These adjustments reflect the requirements of the UAE VAT framework, such as the mandatory use of the AED currency and transaction classifications covering reverse charge, free zone operations, and e-commerce activities.
Under PINT AE v1.0.1, invoices will be exchanged via the Peppol five-corner model, with Accredited Service Providers responsible for validating and transmitting documents.
Although the specification is not yet fully harmonized with the general Peppol International (PINT) standard, full alignment is expected by early 2026.
The release represents an important milestone in the UAE’s ongoing digital tax transformation. It lays the groundwork for the country’s mandatory e-invoicing regime, scheduled to take effect in July 2026 for B2B and B2G transactions.
