Oman Partners with Omantel to Launch E-Invoicing System

The Oman Tax Authority (OTA) has reinitiated its e-invoicing plans by partnering with Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel). Originally planned for 2024 but delayed, this initiative is a key step toward advancing the country’s digital tax strategy in line with the broader objectives of Vision 2040.

Omantel to Lead Platform Development

As part of the agreement, Omantel will take the lead in building and designing the e-invoicing platform. The system aims to enable secure data exchange and simplify tax compliance for businesses across the country.

Implementation Details Still to Come

Specific information, such as rollout schedules, technical details, and the adoption of a Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) model, has yet to be confirmed. However, previous estimates targeting early 2026 may no longer hold and are likely to be revised.
