France Confirms September 2026 Start for CTC E-Invoicing Mandate

On April 11, 2025, the French National Assembly rejected a proposed amendment that would have delayed the rollout of the country's new Continuous Transaction Control (CTC) e-invoicing mandate. As a result, the original timeline remains in place, requiring companies to stay on course with their compliance preparations.
Key Dates to Remember
- September 1, 2026:
- All companies must be capable of receiving e-invoices.
- Large (Grandes Entreprises) and Intermediate-sized (Entreprises de Taille Intermédiaire) companies must begin issuing e-invoices.
Note: This date may be postponed by decree to as late as December 1, 2027 if needed.
- September 1, 2027:
- Small (Petites et Moyennes Entreprises), Medium, and Micro (Très Petites Entreprises) businesses must start issuing e-invoices.
- Similarly, this deadline may be extended until December 1, 2028, by decree if required.
The rejected amendment had sought to delay the entire reform by a year, offering businesses additional preparation time. However, with Parliament maintaining the original schedule, companies operating in France should prioritize finalizing their e-invoicing systems to ensure a smooth transition.
